A couple of weekends ago, my husband and I enjoyed a Door County day trip. It’s one of our favorite times to visit the area, and it has turned into an annual tradition to visit for apple picking. The drive from Green Bay to Door County is especially beautiful during the fall since you can see the colors change on all of the trees that line the highway.

During our weekend adventure, we stopped at one of our favorite places, and we checked out a couple of new to us locations. Here’s where we explored and where you should visit in Door County!

Lautenbach’s Winery & Market

We love it here. It’s rare that we go to Door County without stopping by Lautenbach’s for a wine flight. Attached to the winery is a market – it’s fun to shop and has lots of local goods to enjoy.

Lautenbach’s is also our apple-picking spot! We go for the Honeycrisp apples to make pie with.

Cupola House Cafe & Shops

During other Door County day trips, I’ve seen the Cupola house, but we always just drove by. After apple picking and wine tasting, I searched for a coffee shop in my maps app and came across the Cupola Cafe. So, we finally visited the pretty white house!

We shared an iced americano and looked around the shops inside of the Cupola. There were so many pretty and unique items for sale!

I was tempted by the bouquets of dried flowers and the sardine can candles…maybe next time.

Burton’s On The Bay

We chose to eat here purely based on the name (we are The Burton’s after all). It ended up being the perfect choice for lunch! You couldn’t beat the views from the dining room.

And, the food was delicious! We started with the bruschetta. I highly recommend this appetizer if you visit. As you may be able to tell, my phone didn’t eat first when our entrees arrived at the table. We dug right in!

Walking out of Burton’s provided us with an even more picturesque view. We may have to return during the summer to enjoy drinks and a meal on the patio.

Once we got home, we turned our apples into dessert! This apple pie was as good as it looks, and it was a sweet way to finish our fall day.
