Why Thrifting is Incredibly Chic

It’s no secret that I adore thrifting. And, I’d argue that it’s an incredibly chic hobby to have.

Chic: a distinctive mode of dress or manner associated with a fashionable lifestyle, ideology, or pursuit.

Here are the top 3 reasons why I consider thrifting to be chic – and why you should love second-hand shopping too:

#1: Thrifting allows you to curate a unique personal style.

When thrifting, you have lots of different options to explore. You’ll see pieces that are new, vintage, and a variety of brands/fabrics/patterns, and more! With this broad section, you have the opportunity to see what speaks to you.

You won’t end up just wearing what everyone else is. Trending styles can be emulated with thrift finds, but in my opinion, it’s even more chic to find the stuff you love and curate your own style accordingly.

#2: Thrifting isn’t simply shopping, it’s an experience.

I can’t get enough of the treasure hunt that thrifting is. I don’t think everyone understands the electric feeling of finding your new favorite piece at the thrift store – but those who get it, get it!

I can spend hours looking through all of the racks. Grabbing coffee and going thrifting is my perfect Saturday or Sunday itinerary.

#3: Thrifting is an affordable way to build your wardrobe.

I primarily shop second-hand, so prices at your typical mall store absolutely shock me. I know how much further my dollar stretches at my local Goodwill NCW shop!

You can find everything you need thrifting, from basics to statement pieces, for prices that don’t break the bank. Budget-friendly shopping is extremely chic, in my humble opinion.
